MANIFESTO
We come from below.
Not below average. Not below the radar.
Below the surface.
Where the light doesn't reach and the pressure is absolute.
Where things survive not by being fragile — but by being armored.
We are not a label.
Labels are for jars.
Labels are for things that don't move.
We are a law.
We are a frequency.
We are the sound that travels faster in water than in air — because we were built for depths you haven't reached yet.
Carapace Records was not founded.
It emerged.
The way a lobster emerges from its old shell —
not smaller, not weaker —
larger. harder. more itself.
The Marapu people of Sumba have known this for centuries :
when you die, you don't disappear.
You change your carapace.
We've been dying and returning since before you were born.
Our artists are not performers.
They are predators with things to say.
Omerta C (for Omerta Crustacée) — the Godfather of the Deep. No face. No compromise. The beat is the threat.
Pat the Crab — street-level operator. He doesn't make moves. He secures them.
Gegette the Crevette — don't let the grade fool you. The smallest in the Confrérie. The most dangerous in a room.
Kumas Flambeur de Gambas — the man who sets fire to his own kind and calls it a party. A walking contradiction. The label loves him for it.
Kold Killa — cold-blooded since the Cretaceous. A Komodo dragon doesn't hunt for sport. Neither does he.
Bloody Joe — the Grey Reef Shark. Patient. Cinematic. Already circling you.
We don't chase trends.
Trends are surface phenomena.
We are tectonic.
We have a Confrérie.
A brotherhood of free crustaceans.
🦠 Plankton. 🦐 Shrimp. 🦀 Crab. 🦞 Lobster.
You don't apply.
You are recognized.
There is a difference.
Grades are earned by action, by loyalty, by proof.
Not by followers. Not by streams.
By showing up when the pressure is on.
What we are against :
Tourists who walk on coral in the morning and eat lobster at night.
Musicians who make music for algorithms.
Labels that sign artists and then sand down every edge that made them interesting.
Comfort. Transparency. Blue tropical skies.
We are the abyss looking back at you.
What we believe :
That music is not content.
That a track is a declaration, not a product.
That the best art comes from the people who had the most to lose by making it.
That three languages in one song is not a gimmick — it's a geography.
That humor and menace are not opposites. They are siblings.
We do not sign.
We engrave.
Every release is permanent.
Every track is a mark left on something that will outlast the artist.
The coral remembers.
The abyss remembers.
We remember.
This is not an invitation.
This is a warning.
And if you heard the CLAC CLAC —
you already know.
Carapace Records. Founded in the deep. Rising when ready.
